Dr. Patel and the staff at Baybird Orthodontics are committed to providing personalized care for each patient who trusts her with their smile. Our first responsibility to every patient is to be their trusted advisor about their orthodontic needs and how treatment will affect their facial appearance, their smile, and their dental health. Dr. Patel loves getting to know her patients and providing a positive experience on the way to achieving a beautifully straight smile. Dr. Patel has a commitment to precision treatment, and passion for people leading to excellent results.
Credentials
Dr. Patel graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in Camden, Delaware. After finishing her undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, she studied dentistry at Temple University Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia. She completed her orthodontic residency at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania where she earned her Masters of Science in Orthodontics and certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Dr. Patel is a Board Certified Orthodontist and member of the American Association of Orthodontics, Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontics, Delaware State Dental Society, and Kent Sussex Dental Society.
Outside the Office
Dr. Patel lives in Dover with her husband, Kunal, and son. When Dr. Patel is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with family. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, DIYing, and trying new cuisines! Dr. Patel loves to experience new cultures through food and is always open to new restaurant recommendations!

Shannon, with over 20 years of experience in the dental field, is dedicated to assisting with any insurance and treatment questions at Baybird Orthodontics. Her aim is to ensure that every visit is informative and comfortable for families, empowering them to make the best decisions.
Shannon values creating a sense of belonging within our practice. She is committed to learning new techniques and staying current with advancements in dental technology. She adores summer, relishing the warmth and sunshine. During her free time, she cherishes moments with her husband, children, and fur baby, Marley.

Sophia is a proud owner of her two cats, Toby and Brutus! She enjoys spending time with her friends or at the gym, maintaining an active happy lifestyle. With her adventurous spirit, she is always looking to explore new things and is passionate about making the most out of every opportunity.
In her free time, you can find Sophia reading books, shopping, eating delicious food, or snuggling up with her cats and watching her favorite shows. Additionally, Sophia loves her Ukrainian heritage and cherishes her family, always making sure she’s doing everything she can to help and provide for the ones she loves.

Shannon D has been a dedicated Orthodontic Technician for 20 years, bringing experience and genuine care to every patient she works with. Throughout her career, Shannon has found the greatest joy in watching patients transform-not just their smiles, but in their confidence as they progress through their orthodontic journey.
She believes that every smile tells a story, and she takes pride in being part of each patients experience from start to finish. Shannon is passionate about being supportive to patients so they feel comfortable, encouraged and excited about their results.

Kelsey is originally from Louisiana and moved to Delaware in 2022 thanks to her husband's service in the U.S. Air Force. As a military spouse, mom of two children and pet mom to nine, life keeps her busy and on her toes - and she wouldn't have it any other way!
When she's not at work, you'll usually find her with a good book or spending time outside with her family. She loves connecting with people and helping create welcoming, positive experience for everyone she meets.
